Regions 2 and 3 Regional Review
Region 2 and Region 3 energy corridor report and abstracts.
Regions 2 and 3 Report
The BLM, USFS, and DOE released the Regions 2 and 3 Report on August 22, 2019, and requested stakeholder input by September 23, 2019.
Regions 2 and 3 Energy Corridor Abstracts
On January 10, 2018, the BLM, USFS and DOE published draft energy corridor abstracts for the Regions 2 and 3 review process. This release initiated a 45-day stakeholder review period which closed February 25, 2018. The review included 53 energy corridors situated in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah. The agencies also held a webinar on January 24, 2018, to provide an orientation to the review process. Revised corridor abstracts were released on May 18, 2018, and are available below.
The purpose of the Regional Reviews is to examine new relevant information and stakeholder input on the Section 368 energy corridors, including corridors of concern, and, based on this information, identify potential revisions, deletions, or additions to the corridors and identify possible changes to the IOPs. Visit the Regional Reviews page for general information on the Regional Reviews.
Within the regional review process, there are three opportunities for stakeholder engagement. The graphic below displays the entire review process and highlights (in red) these three opportunities.
Abstracts were finalized following stakeholder review and input. Stakeholder workshops were held from May 31-June 13, 2018, and served as a collaborative venue for consideration and development of potential corridor revisions, deletions, or additions and potential changes to IOPs (Step 2). This input has been compiled into a draft report (Step 3) for Regions 2 and 3 that was released on August 22, 2019, for a 30‑day stakeholder review, followed by the release of the final report on April 20, 2022, which includes the results of the regional reviews for all six regions.
